Yes, it is always a good idea to read labels.
Also it is a good idea to try to not believe everything you hear/read.
The Gladiator from Smoothie King comes with 2 fruits of your
choice, not all 9 listed. (Not that you implied that, Hope,
but the comparison to the Big Mac/Fries uses all 9.)
Therefore, you add the TWO fruits to the Gladiator powder to get
your numbers.
Assuming that the numbers you have listed are for each
SINGLE fruit and you add two fruits, using the averages of the
fruits, that adds approximately160 calories from fruit to the
180 for the protein powder.
Therefore, an APPROXIMATE comparison would look more like this:
20 oz.Gladiator / BigMac&Fries.
Calories 340 920
Protein 45 29
Fat 0 48
Carb 40 93
With 37 percent of the calories and 1-1/2 times the protein,
seems to me like the Gladiator smoothie would make a
great protein-filled on-the-go meal replacement.
(And I'm sure Smoothie King would add only one fruit -- or
none -- instead of two if you request that.)
Of course, you may also wish to compare other factors, such as
sodium, fiber, sugars (all natural from the fruit in the Gladiator).
Unfortunately I cannot seem to access your full chart for these.
But you get the drift. There's really no comparison between the
Gladiator and the Big Mac/Fries.
