I went to his facility for my banding and met Dr. Rashid. She did my banding 1.12.09 at ATL Med center. I am now looking for a plastic surgeon. I heard Dr. Duncan does this as well. He has a seperate website for this also. Has anyone had him or had a consult with him for plastics? I am to see him 7.12.10 for my consult for plastics. Even though I have never met him I like the fact that he knows of both WLS and Plastics after WLS.

please any and all responces welcome!

Thanks,
Casey

The way I look at it is this--I wanted a bariatric surgeon to do my bariatric procedure and I want my plastic surgeon to be an experienced plastic surgeon............................just my two cents worth.

First of all, I would check out Dr. Duncan's record VERY CAREFULLY.  Second, I agree wholeheartedly with Walterswife...I wouldn't have gone to a neurosurgeon for my RNY, I wouldn't go to my OB/GYN for a kidney issue, why would I see my bariatric surgeon for plastic surgery.  I think Dr. Duncan has his hands in too many pots, so to speak.

Talksoupsip for you to say that this physician has his hands in too many pots is an understatement.  I started out thinking I wanted him to do my surgery.  I never got a response to a single phone call or email and his staff gave me a runaround and lied to me when lying wasn't even necessary.  Dealing with them was too frustrating.  I realized that if they treated me like that before the surgery, I would be too miserable afterwards if I had a problem.  After what I have read and heard, I know I made the right decision.

Whether you are choosing Dr. Duncan or another surgeon, make sure that the surgeon you select is experienced with bariatric patients.  If you have a Lap Band the surgeon needs to understand your needs regarding port placements, etc.
