There are basic guidelines to get plastic (rather reconstructive) surgery covered by any insurance (if they are going to cover it at all).  How low does her panni go??  Does it cover her pubic area??  If it does not, sorry about her luck, but more than likely any insurance will not cover it.

The first thing to determine on this quest is...will medicare cover this type of surgery??  If so, they might be able to direct you to the appropriate plastic surgeons in her area.  Considering what medicare pays out for this type of procedure, they may really only cover a pannilectomy (which is the removal of the excess skin...it does not cover any type of muscle repair.  In order for to get a tummy tuck, she may have to pay out additional $$ to get this procedure.  Does she have the additional $$ to pay for this??

The best thing to do if medicare does not provide a list of surgeons that would do this procedure...is to use the phone and start calling, as most plastic surgeons are strictly cash pay, and do not accept payment plans....they do have places where you might can get a low interest rate loan to cover the cost of surgery.

Dr. Patricia Yuegaris.  My friend went to her 3 weeks

ago and already is approved by Medicaid last

Friday.  (1st time around)   BTW ..... let me clarify ...... not sure whether

she has Medicaid or Medicare (don't really know the difference)

but she definately has one or the other of them.  If it wasn't 3 am

I would call her and ask but considering ..... I think NOT.  lol
