Hello,

How was your experience with Dr. Dennis Smith as your choice?  What did you like about him, did he help you make the best choice in your procedure?  How efficient is his staff?  And how is your WL journey?

He was my first choice but my insurance doesn't cover him.  I have Cigna and they don't cover WellStar hospital, so I can't use him.  I am going to use Dr. Macik.  He seems nice.  His staff have been helpful when I have called to follow up with them.  I go to Dr. Smith's support groups because they are close to where I live.  Dee and Sue are great.  Even though I am using Dr. Macik, they will answer my questions, email me about support group dates etc...

I went to his seminar and they passed out a bunch of information on the cost of each surgery.  He charges is estimated at $35,000 for the DS.  This includes surgeon's fee, surgical assistant fee, hospital fee, hospital fee, pathology fee, and anesthesia fee.   His program fee is in-town $400 and out-town $500.

Dr Smith is now working with/for WellStar Hospital.  It's what I've been waiting on for over a yr.  Give it another go.

Make sure your insurance will pay for the hospital.  Mine won't.

I love him!! I had surger 12/23/09 and so far so good.  He's a straight talker. No joking or playing around here.  He's all about business and he knows his stuff.   Staff is alright.  You do your part to stay on top of them and things will go through fine.  I met him on 11/19 and was approved less than a month later.

How are you doing with the DS?  Are you really happy with your choice?  How much have you lost?
