How is Dr. Paul Macik
Hello,
I was curious has anyone used Dr. Macik? Were you happy with him as a surgent? Would you recommend him , which surgery did you have, and how much have you lost? I want to have my surgery in June, all of my paper work is finish with him, but I'm interested in Dr. Dennis Smith oh has more experience with a variety of surgeries under his but like the DS. Now he is under my insurance. I"m trying to make up my mind.
Thank You!

Good morning Sunshine! (sorry, I just had to say it!)
I had RNY andd Dr. Macik is my surgeon. He is skilled, efficient, his office staff is helpful and he responded quickly at the hospital. I was only in the hospital for 1 and 1/2 days and 1 night. I have had zero issues as long as I followed his directions to the letter. His follow up is helpful and required. My surgery was in November, and as of this morning I have lost 68 pounds and gone from a 22-24 to a 14. Needless to say I am thrilled. All of that said, you need to know that he is not a talker or socializer. His bed side manner is quick and short. No chit-chat. He will, however take plenty of time to answer questions if you ask. So ask. I have no problem recommending him as a surgeon.
I know it is a hard decision to make. I am sure you will make the one that is right for you.
Good Luck.

I agree with everything CC said above. He is a very skilled surgeon. I have had no complications, and no problems with incision sites. His follow up has been great as well. His office has always been helpful, but can be a little slow. However, as I have told others, I did not pick him because of his office staff. I picked him for his surgical skills.
Hope this helps!

I've liked his thus far and my wife and I have met with him 3 times. She, being in the medical field, asked a lot of medical questions and he was quite impressed. He started to draw on paper what the RNY procedure is all about. I know that we both walked out of his office with a smile and very excited.
Thank you! You have been extremely successful with your program. I keep going back and forward with him. Darn I hate that I'm so indecisive. I like that he can make few incisions, and he is right down the street from me. However I not crazy in how he respond, when I ask a question he gives a very short answer.
