Lashelle and Izzy

I just wanted to say Thanks to Lashelle and Izzy who called me last night because they know I have a surgery coming up on the 17th of November in KY.  I'm not in panic mood right now and I pray I don't go in panic mood but talking to them just really lift my spirits.  Its scary because not too many people know anything about the DS and I'm still learning so its just good having people you can talk to that have already been through the experience so they can help you out.  I've been struggling trying to figure out do I buy vitamins now or do I wait?  What should I have to eat afterwards? Just all the questions that only those that's been through it know the answers to. 

I dont really have many people to talk to and my family knows what I am doing but they know nothing about the DS.  Only one or two people even know I am having surgery because I don't want to hear the negative comments I know I will get.  I dont want to hear you only need to lose about 50 pounds when clearly I am over 100 pounds over weight.  I dont want to hear you can do it on your own you dont have to do something so drastic.  I've heard it all and I'm tired of hearing it I'm so excited and ready to go on this journery.  I have one special friend (Angie) who help me out when I was stressing and we're taking this journey together, other than that I would be so lost.  She doesn't know but she was a blessing just as you ladies have become so thanks to you all.

I just wanted to say thanks ladies I really appreciate you and I can't wait to hang out with you next Saturday.  Even though I won't be able to eat anything I would love to just hang out so you can teach me and I can learn what to expect.  But I am lucky to know such nice people like you and if you ever need anything or if there is anything I can do please don't hesitate to ask.  I appreciate you all.

I totally understand how you feel about wanting support and not wanting the negative comments when you're going through such a huge, life-changing experience. 

LaShelle and Izzy (among others) have both been there for me during my journey so far and they're wonderful ladies to have on your team.  Even though I had the sleeve, which my medical team and I believe was the best surgery for me and my cir****tances, I hope to be there to support you when you need it too....and even when you don't! 

I'm so excited for you and look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Awww girl, you're so welcome. Did you think we'd let you go through this alone?   We are gonna love you so much through this, you'll be trying to file for a divorce!  

With both of us being early out, we know the next 2-3 months may get a little rough. I just started feeling normal again last month.

Can't wait to see you next week. I will look up the times and confirm everything with you.

We will be here every step of the way.

I'm in Somerset so if you'd like a friend I will be there.  I'm very happy for you. As I read other post to this thread it sounds like everything I've ever heard my self so be happy my friend.  Let me know how you do with your protein shakes.  I start that tomorrow.  Hey I bet we are at the hospital together.  My surgery is on the 19th.

Jennifer make her get up and walk, walk walk.   We are not bringing any blood clots back to GA.  I bet you guys will be in the hospital together!  That will be cool.

OMG that is great me and my friend Sammy09 will be having surgery a day after each other.  Mine is the 17th, hers is the 18th and yours is the 19th wow thats great.  We are getting together that Monday the 16th it would be great if you could join us.  Then we can keep each other in line.

This is just too cool.. Yes, we MUSt meet up and chat before we are switched. I am so excited

Im so happy to here that you are starting your journey soon!!    
Support is soo important and you have some good ones on your side!   I'll be there too if you need anything although I don't know much about the DS either since I had RNY but  will be there to help anyway I can.
