Roll Call Hello Hello is there any life out there???????
It's a good way to meet the local people. It is interesting the junk people have from different parts of the country, northerners have snow equipment, skis, etc, coastal people have beachy stuff, us southern people have general nondescript junk ha ha ha....
It is also the best way to get tips on where the locals hang out and where to get the best local food not the tourist trap stuff.

I've never thought of it that way - but it makes perfect sense.
We have a lot of land at the river & plan to put a mobile home on it (when we can afford it). So, I have been going to thrift stores/yard sales and shopping clearances when they are dirt cheap to get things. I have almost filled my oldest son's room (he's moved out) with lamps, curtain rods, microwaves, bed frames, etc. that I got for next to nothing. I even got a brand new Weber grill for $30.
Maybe if ones of my tests fall near the 24th, I can make it to the meet & greet on the 24th.

D.J., I work at Emory and close to the building where the bariatric center is. When you're here for testing, let me know if you would like to meet for coffee or lunch, or even a quick second between tests! I didn't have the band so I can't give you info about that, but even a little support helps, especially when you don't have a support group in your area.

Across the United States, in 2006, twice as many people died from lack of health insurance as died from homicide.
"This is my one and only life, and it's a great and terrible and short and endless thing, and none of us come out of it alive."
Hi, my name is Linda. I live in Southwest Georgia. I work at the public library and have State Health Insurance(UHC-HRA). I jumped through all the hoops and had RNY surgery 8/3/09 with Dr. J. Ryland Scott in Rome, my parents and sister live in Rome. Great surgeon, I would recommend him to anyone!! I have lost 29 pounds since surgery, and 43.5 pounds since last year.
I am 55 and married(31 years). My husband was a Captain at the Fire Department and just retired June 1. It is soooo hard to get up and go to work everyday when he gets to stay home and play!! I have about 5 more years to work, but may look into retirement(TRS) in 3 years.
We have two children, son and daughter, both grown. They are both married and both had little girls within 1 week and 1 hour of each other. One lives in one direction 30 minutes and the other in the opposite direction 30 minutes so needless to say, we stay on the road alot on the weekends. Grandbabies are great!!! We also have a miniture daschuand, Willie. He is our baby.
I love fall and spring weather. It was so nice here last week. It is raining today. We will be going to the Georgia National Fair next weekend. We love looking at the exhibits.
I love to read, so working in a library is great. It is like the dream job. I worked for Child Support Enforcement for almost 10 years, then went to work for the local school system and did payroll for about 750 people and now at the library. I hope to retire from the library.
Wish I could meet everyone, but I live about 2 1/2 hours south of Atlanta so it is hard to come for a meeting.
LaShelle, I am glad you are feeling better. I have been very fortunate and not had any problems.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Joy. I am 31 years old, married and have a 4 year old son. I have just begun my WLS journey. I have my first consult for RNY with Dr. Macik on 10/22/09. I am nervous and excited at the same time. OH has definitely been a wealth of information for me.
I am originally from California. Born and raised in S. California and after HS graduation, I moved to Sacramento and lived there for 10 years. It will be 4 years in February that I moved to Georgia to be closer to family. It's growing on me, but now that winter is approaching, I miss California weather. I dont like sweaters and jackets, but I'll get over it soon.
