Make sure you choose the HRA or High Deductible option. No other plans cover wls.

Check my post I made a couple of weeks ago for details on how to persue wls through shbp.

Thanks LaShelle2 for your comments.  I just read through them.  I have been on here for about a year now and I am finally done with my 6 months of pcp visits and diet.  I have met with the Memorial Health Bariatric office in savannah.  Now I have to do a nutrition class, exercise class, psychological and a band class and then I hope to send everything to insurance.

Sounds like you've been on top of things.   Do you already have the HRA?

Yeah we got HRA last year and have loved it this year.   It looks like the surgery will cost us less than $700 and we have that money already saved in our Medical Reembursement account.

I'm disapointed they raised the out of pocket max to $2500 from 2000!!!!   That sucks considering they have everybody on furlough.

So we're to do twice the work with half thge staff and make less money and pay more for insurance.  And oh remember to practice good customer service.

Isn't working for the gov't just grand???

Unfortunately, even though we are considered state employees, none of the University System of Georgia's health plans cover bariatric surgeries.
