Plastic Surgery in the Dominican Republic
Ive been kinda lurking here for a few weeks. Im in Valdosta. But my question is have any of you had or thought about having plastic surgery done in the Dominican Republic? I am looking at a Dr. there....shes very nice over email & phone...her before and after pics look wonderful..and she is very skilled and well educated.... since im closer to DR than mexico and it would be good to see about traveling there instead of mexico...and i found a pretty good dr. just wondering if any of you have traveled for plastics and what you may think about it or if anyone has had any experience with Dr. Camilo in the Dominican Republic.

Also, I am not opposed to traveling out of country as an absolute last resort, but I would exhaust all local resources before I went to that extreme. There are some really good locals especially in Florida and California.
Is finances the primary reason you're going abroad? Maybe you can find a local person with financing or a payment plan?
Also be careful being lured in with great before and after photos. 1st no surgeon is going to post botched surgery photos, so take them with a grain of salt. Just because they have a good pic on their website doesn't mean they haven't jacked people up. 2nd, how do you even know if they are her actual patients? You can google plastic surgery photos and cut and paste? If you can get 1st hand testimony from actual patients that would seem a more credible reference.
Foreign countries are not governed by the same medical standards we have in the US. That is partly why they're so cheap. I know there are great foreign doctors who have saved a lot of lives, and I pray you'll have a good outcome. Just be careful with this.
