New here-need surgery- no savings and cannot get loan- north GA

I am new here and hope I will be able to find help and suggestions here.
I am considered obese, and have hashimotos thyroiditis, mild sleep apnea, stress incontinence, pre- diabetes, high cholesterol, chronic fatigue, and now NON-alchoholic liver disease (because of the way my liver processes sugar)  all of these things that I have are related to my weight as none of it runs in my family. I addition to these I was bit by a tick last year and got Lyme disease.
I have a 5 year old and a 20 month old and every day I worry that I will not be here to see them grow up.
I try to eat healthy but my weight just continuously goes up and down, since having children it has been impossible for me to loose weight, I have gained 20 pounds since having my last child.
I am not sure what to do anymore.  I do not think my insurance (Humana POS) will pay for bariatric surgery, we have NO savings and my husbands business failed making it so we had to file for bankruptcy, now we cannot get a loan.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to maybe get a private loan ?  Or any suggestions on the best way to go about this?
I am open to any help and suggestions that anyone has to offer.
Thanks
Jennafer

I noticed that you said that you did not think your insurance would pay for the surgery.  Before you panic, why not contact the insurance company to see if this is a covered benefit.  Gather the information that you need first and then see where that carries you.  Many policies cover bariatric surgery.  I hope that you will find that yours will cover you.

1st check to see if your policy will cover the surgery. You may get lucky and have the coverage. Do you know anyone else from the job w/ the same policy you have that has gotten surgrey?

If you are going to be self pay and financing is not an option, you may just have to get creative and raise money. Yard sales, bake sales, ebay, babysitting, etc.

WLS isn't considered as serious as say a heart transplant to the outside world, so you may be hard pressed to get communty support, but anything is worth a try.  Would your church family support you by holding some type of fundraiser?

One lady on the board had a $1 raffle.  You could do this (not on OH, they don't allow it) and raffle something mice.

I had been wanting this surgery for more than 5 years, but my insurance excluded it. I thought all hope was lost until out of the blue they started covering it this year.  Even when it looks like all the doors in your path are closed, God will find a way to open a window to let you walk into your destiny.  A way will be made for you to get your surgrey in God's perfect timing.

Thanks LaShelle2.. those are some good ideas.  I have checked with my insurance and they do not cover it, even if it is medically necessary.  I will just try to raise money for it.  The raffle is a good idea.
