DR RICHARD DID RNY ON ME IN JAN 09 I HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE NO PROBLEMS AND HE IS A VERY CARING AND SUPPORTIVE DR AND HE MAKES YOU FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AND DONT RUSH YOU HE WILL LISTEN TO YOU AND LET YOU ASK QUESTIONS I HAVE LOST 85LBS AND WOULD LIKE TO LOSE 15 MORE TO BE TO GOAL I THINK YOU WOULD BE VERY HAPPY WITH HIM AND THE STAFF THERE FOR YOUR SURGERY AND THE SUPPORT GROUP AFTERWARD IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US TO ATTEND I ENJOY GOING HAVENT BEEN AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE BUT DO FEEL IT IS IMPORTANT AND WILL GO AS MUCH AS I CAN BEST WISHES AND GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH AND ON YOUR JOURNEY GOD BLESS YOU

The only DS Dr in the Southeast that I am aware that will do 450+ is Dr. Houston n TN and Dr. Voellinger in Charlotte. He was the surgeon I was gonna use for my DS. He is a good surgreon and has a great program for pre-and aftercare.
I switched because his paperwork process was sloooooooooooow. Like unbelievably inexcusably slow. I had to get my DS before school started back in August, so I switched. If I didn't have the time restrictions, I may have stuck it out, but I am glad I switched because everything worked out in the end. Also, Dr. V makes you do all your pre-op testing in his office w/ his people, so It may nit be convenient to drive back and forth. They were really good w/ bundling appts to keep my trips minimal.
Dr. Houston has done DS up to 500 pounds+. John on the TN forum was over 500 pre op and had lost over 250 pounds in about 6 months! He has had no complications and loves Dr. H. We all love him.
Dr. H will let you doo all your pre-op testing here except the pre-op labs which you will do when you do your pre-admission at the hospital. I only had to make 1 trip to Nashville pre-op. I did my consult, pre-op labs, hospital paperwork admissions, hospital tour, all in that 1 day.
If you decide to look into Dr. H, let me know, and I will introduce you to the others in the Atlanta Dr. H group.
