Hi All- I can't believe the day is approaching so fast!!
So tomorrow is my preop- I'll be at the doctor at 7:45 in the morning, then off to meet with Ginger at 11 and then with the anestisiologist (spelling) at 2. What a long day, but then Thursday is surgery!! i've been dealing with the butterflies all week, and the what if's and am i doing the right thing.. etc.  But I know this is the right choice for me and my health. I just can't wait to dive in, and come out of my metamorphisis as a shiny new butterfly..I know that may sound corny... But I have struggled my entire life with my weight, and I'm so ready to be healthy, look healthy and if I want to RUN, I'll be able too!!!   Thank you all for always listening to me!!!   I can't wait to get on that losers bench!!!

You'r elucky you ahd a short wait. KNowing a month out gives you too much time to ride the emotional roller coaster.   Are you on liquids?  Have you packed and done laundry, etc?

Yes, I think this short time has made it better!!  I start liquids tomorrow at 6 pm. We have 4 kids, so I always have of  tons laundry, I've done about 25 loads in the last 4 days, making sure everyone's bed clothes are washed, LOL in addition to the regular laundry. I think i probably have about 4 more loads to wash tonight and then I'll be done Hopefully.  LOL
I asked my doctors office about the presurgery liquid diet , and because every doctor has their own preferences I've been really fortunate to not have to be on the Liquid only. Just tomorrow evening! and then NPO after midnight!   Tonight will be my packing night, I'm wondering how to pack..  I know I'm not gonna want to be wearing jeans, so I was thinking stretch pants and a nice top, or just a tshirt, heck I don't really know.. Here I go into blab mode...  I do that when I'm nervous. LOL  I think a pedi might be in order this evening!!!

I wore a sundress w/ buttons all tha way down. It was good because I had a 4 hr drive and I could change my bandage.   Since you're local, don't stress about it as long as it is comfy.

Don't overpack. You won't use half of what you pack I promise!.

Do you have an Angel? If not PM me and I will give you my # if you want the bard to know when you're out of surgery.

Do you have to do the bowel prep?  If so do it 1st think in the morning because it works all day for some people.  I did mine 2 days ahead and still had a bm the morning of surgery.

A pedi would be great, since the nurses will be peeping at your toes. Plus you need to destress.

I know you went out of state for your surgery but I have a question.  How long did you stay in Tenn after you was released from the hospital or did you stay?  How was that ride home?  Were you in pain at all or anything like that?  I really want to know I am going to Kentucky for mine and I was just wondering if I should stay there longer but I want to get home ASAP but I dont want to mess anything up.  So, your advice would be reatly helpful.  Please PM me so we can discuss your experience please.  Thanks.

I  went home the day I was released.   I was in the hospital 3 days.  I had laproscopic, and I also had a drain which was removed in the hospital.

The ride home was ok.  I took the avice to have a pillow. It helped a lot.   After about 3 hours I did start to feel pretty bad, but we were already back in town then, so I just suffered through it. Anything over 3-4 hours,   I would get a hotel half way home.

Staying in KEntucky days after surgrey would be worthless because you'll just prolong the inevitible.   You may want to stay til your 1 week post op appt, since you ahve such a long drive.

Check online to see if there is a Hospitality House. You can stay there for free.  They have them all over the country.  Your family can stay for free while you are in the hospital too.

I am so excited for you!  Can't wait until it is my turn.  Since I haven't been through it yet, I can't provide any advice at all, but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
