Hello,
Most of you know that I have been having health issues since 6/23/09 when my appendix was removed. I went back into surgery to remove an abscess that formed as a result of an infection acquired during my appendectomy  my hospital stay was 8/13/09 and was released on 8/14/09. I started running a fever again so I went to the ER last night and found out that I have cellulitus a skin infection from the step b infection that developed after the appendectomy. Last night I was given antibiotics through an IV and sent home to take the rest orally. My wound is so bad that the home health care nurse wouldn't let me look at it for fear I would faint. Well me being me I looked at it to and it is horrible it is about 3 inches wide 7 inches long and 4 in. deep.  I am content in the fact that now is not my time for WLS. My time will come when I am healed inside and out. Thanks for all the encouragement you have given me

Take care of yourself and take it easy. I ended up with a MRSA infection that I am still fighting, so I understand and empathize! We will survive and thrive!

It sounds like the last few months have been really rough.  I hope you have a quick recovery.  Don't worry, WLS will be there when you're ready.  Take care of yourself.

I can imagine the last thing you want to see is the inside of a hospital room at this point. Just keep in mind if your surgery was approved one time, they will approve it again.

Make sure you call and ask how long the approval is good for. You may have to do the diet thing again to keep your paperwork current???

Just call and ask to make sure you don't have to repeat the whole thing.  Hopefully you will be ready in November or December, so you can get it done before your insurance changes for 2010. Just in case they change the policy, it would be good to have it done before then.

Bless your heart!  It sounds as if you have a very serious problem.  Take care of it!  I know what it is like to get so close to surgery and have a set back.  I was scheduled and then a series of things happened putting my surgery off for 10 months.  But.......it did happen!  Keep the faith.
