WOW Moments

So, I started work (school) last week and got tons of compliments from the faculty and staff regarding my new emerging body.  Even faculty members who have ignored me in the past have come up to say how great I look.  I just give a great big smile and say "thank you".

I was wondering what would happen this week when the students returned.  I work in a high school and teenagers can be, well, unpredictable.  I wasn't sure if the "brain filter" was going to work in my kids or if they would just blurt out whatever was in their heads (as most teenagers do).  I suspected most would say something as my students are language disabled, so that "brain filter" doesn't work.  The first 2 students I saw this morning (both autistic) commented.  The first one said "You look great!".  The second one said "You've lost a lot of weight!"  Then I saw 2 students who didn't say anything.  The 5th student I saw gave me the "You lost a lot of weight" line.  It's going to be interesting as I see my students from last year to see how many say something.

Just thought I would share.  I guess it's even noticable to teenagers when you lose 134 pounds (70 lbs since the last time they saw me).

That must feel great for them to notice and Im sure it makes you very proud!  You should be proud ! Youve worked hard and its paying off!

I had to add...today, the VERY cute (albeit VERY short) special ed gym teacher commented on how great I look!  Woo Hoo!  A comment from a cute guy?  Can't argue with that!
