Anyone ever been to one of their seminars?  I am scheduled to go to one Thursday evening and am wondering what all information they go over.  Thanks ahead of time.

Unfortunately, the Emory seminar is a cattle call for lack of a better word.  Probably be several hundred people there.  They will weigh you and take your height.  Then, the surgeon will discuss the surgeries.  Usually, they discuss the positives and the risks.  Nothing special, nothing magical if you've been researching surgery for any length of time.

I had my surgery at Emory.  It was the seminar that helped me determine where to have it and what surgeon to use.  I had been to several seminars and the info covered was all pretty much the same, but Emory just really had their act together.  They will cover the different types of surgery, complications, costs of the surgeries, what their requirements are to get started, etc.  They pretty much walk you through what happens and what you can expect.  They also have a Q & A session to address any issues that you feel they didn't cover in the seminar.

Good luck to you!  It is quite a ride.

Linda
