Heart Cath today

Okay. Tuesday the Cardiac nurse calls and says " your stress test showed a blockage, but we can't tell how extensive it is because of your ample breast tissue." She also said I have two valves that are leaking.  After several minutes of conversation she had me convinced that I had a blockage and it might involve inserting a stent. She thought it was serious enough to be treated quickly. I am writing letters to my family 'just in case' and everybody is kind of freaking out. So today (Thursday) I have an angiogram (heart cath.) where they inject dye into your heart via a long tube inserted into the groin area and it showed absolutely NO BLOCKAGE. Not even a slight narrowing or plaque buildup. My arteries are absolutely clean. The doctor called the leaky valves "inconsequential".
They were calling me the 'Artery Queen' at St. Joseph's Hospital! I am glad to know this and at least with all the clearances now I have a baseline for all my major organs.

Looks like I am back on the books for November! Woo Hoo!

I am glad everything was ok for you.  My hospital told me I had a very small blockage, but my doctor said I would not be able to do the eliptical for 20 minutes and the treadmill for 15 minutes if I had any significant blockage.  I had my surgery Monday and everything went fine.
Good luck on your journey,  Keep us updated.

I had to go through the same thing after I had my stress test and ekg.  The cardiologist said I cannot approve you for surgery until you have a heart cath.  After it was done and over with, everything was fine.  But just the stress of the entire process is enough to make you have a heart attack.
I got my approval from the ins. just this week.  So all this "h*ll" we've been through was worth it.  And next year this time, we will be able to see the benefits.
Take care!!!
