Looking for a Post-Op Friendly Primary Care Doc
I've been having problems with him for months, and this is the last straw. He's prescribed things I can't take several times, won't fill out any FMLA forms, etc. He makes me come in for follow ups all the time, and then says "how can I help you today?" when he comes in the room. It's all I can do to keep from saying, "You tell me. You're the one that wanted me to come back in."
When I do have a problem, he makes me come back for another appointment to discuss it. I just got out of the hospital with pneumonia, and the doc at the hospital told me that my thyroid was enlarged. I told my PCP at my follow up for the pneumonia, and he told me to schedule a physical in September. I even showed him that I've started losing hair (beyond the initial loss from the RNY). I asked if I needed any labs done before the physical, and he said we would do them that day and I would have to come back for another follow up!
I'm missing a lot of work because of my health, and I don't want to lose my job over it. I need to find a doctor that knows what they are doing. He was great when I was overweight and had HBP, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc. Now that I don't, I feel like he's a different doctor completely.
So if you have a primary care physician that actually understands what it means to be post-op, please let me know.
Thanks,
Lissa

Her website markets her anti aging services. Don't let this scare you. I am 33. Most of the patients I've seen in her lobby were in the 30-50 age range.

Hey Lissa,
I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your health. I go to Robert Allen Mills, MD at Pathway Internal Medicine at the Holly Springs exit off 575. He's been great since I had my surgery & seems to be familiar with what our requirements are post-op. His number is 770-720-2221. If you go, please let them know I referred you. He's in the practice alone so you get great service. He's very concerned with your total health.
Let me know how you're doing.
Hugs,
CJ
Thanks so much for the referral! I will call Dr. Mills office tomorrow. He's actually one of the ones my advocate at Aetna mentioned to me. I'm fed up with my doctor down in Woodstock. I've got to go back to the pulmonologist in the morning to follow up on the pneumonia, so hopefully I'll get a good report.
