Hello,
It is not by chance that a person can lose weight after weight loss surgery and keep it off. It is a lifestyle change, not a diet that is temporary, but healthy changes that they can live with for a life time. I think some of the changes I have made makes it possible for me to keep the weight off and not feel deprived or have those horrible cravings that I had before Weight Loss Surgery.

After a workout I will sometimes eat a Balance Carb Well Bar, I like the Caramel ‘n Chocolate, tastes great and has 14 grams of protein. But remember there are calories!

Sometimes we need a quick snack and have not planned for it. I have compiled a few of the things I would eat if I were going to have a snack. I hope these tips and ideas can help you. And if you have any tips for me, please pass them on. I would love to hear about them!   Remember that all food even healthy food has calories and they add up. Whatever you put in your mouth you have to work off! These are just some ideas for you, and you can be creative with what you like and switch them up a little.    I wish you much success on your weight loss journey!

This is just one snack I enjoy, if you would like you can go to my blog to see other snacks and also some of my other favorite things.

Our surgeon is not a proponent of snacking.. he is strictly 3 meals a day kinda guy. Since I'm early out I'm gonna stick with that but a yr or two out I can see the need to have a snack on occasion....

I totally agree.  And everyone should listen to their surgeon.  When I was losing weight I only ate 3 meals a day and that is part of what got me to my weight loss goal in 1 year (along with not eating bread, rice, pasta, potatoes or sugar).

And I do not snack often, but when I work out and know I will not eat dinner for a while I will have a high protein snack.  (We are all in a different place in our walks with WLS and I am 8 1/2 years out and at goal weight)

So, these are just some healthy suggestions that I choose.  (They are healthy alternatives to choose instead of empty calorie snacks).  Some of them I eat for a meal as well when I am in a hurry.

Sometimes people go for a candy bar, I am saying that a caramel chocolate protein bar is a really healthy alternative to a candy bar that even tastes good and gives you protein.  Remember this is all about creating a healthy lifestyle, and what works for me may not work for the next person..everyone has to find what works for them for a life time.

Take care and good luck on your weight loss journey.

Hugs,

Ginger
