Thinkin Outside the Box

I received an e-mail from one of my OH friends today. She is having trouble paying for her surgery, so she has decided to hold a $1 raffle to raise funds! What an ingenious idea. If you want her info PM me and I will send it to you.

I can't count the number of times someone has posted on OH their desperate plea for a solution to no funds or no insurance coverage. So, why not think outside the BOX!

What creative things did you do to raise money for your surgery or other big dollar projects?

If you had to come up with $25,000 in a year or DIE what would you do to come up with the money?

* You would need to do a lot of these small projecs to get a substantial amount of money, but you can do it! If you try any of these, let us know what works.

yes that is a great idea i know where she coming from . i had to come up with 1500.00 but to god be the glory he made the way. i pray that she come up with every bit of it in jesus name.

While your OH friend is thinking outside the box, it's not a very good idea.  People have gotten burned on OH for providing financial assistance.  There is one case (of which I don't really know all the details) that's being prosecuted in the courts currently.

I guess it's like giving a homeless person a dollar on the street. They may buy booze with it or thay may not. It's what's in your heart that matters. Beyond that it's on their concience and they'll have to answer for it.   If I lose $1 to a OH scammer it won't break me.  I honestly wouldn't give much more than that because of the reason you mentioned. I hope she is sincere and I hope she can raise the money she needs. 

The purpose of my post was not to drum up business for this girl, but to give people in general ideas to raise funds. It doesn't even need to be for your surgery. You may need extra money for a school or church fundraiser, to keep your home out of foreclosure, whatever.
 
Others have posted recently wanting to know what to do to pay for their surgery, so I know there is a need for ideas of how to raise money.

Was just openening it  up for discussion to get people to brainstorm ideas and share.

Not that I would recommend it but attempt some sort of insurance scam. 

pull the life support of your rich grandma and get your nheritence, Or slip on a banana peel in Publix? Hmmm I wonder if they do wls in the county jail? I guess desperate times call for desperate measres.
