I was originally scheduled for surgery on July 20,2009. The surgery was canceled due to an emergency appendectomy on June 23. I have had 2 infections and an abscess. I am now have home health care nurses come to my home irrigate and c lean an 6cm deep wound. I went to my pre-op on 7/28/09. I have to go back on 8/11/09 to make sure that my incision is healed. I know it is not going to be healed. I'm thinking I am going to have to reschedule again from my new date 8/24/09. How do I keep from being discouraged.

Just continue to PRAY and do what you know that you should be doing.  It may be easy for me to say but ... Try to put your mind elsewhere.  As a wise woman by the name of  Cocodrop said in an earlier Post ... It is definitely best to allow yourself to heal and be at your Healthiest when Your Big Day arrives.  You are in the Best of Hands.  Hold Strong to your Faith ... and DO NOT get discouraged.  You will NEVER be abandoned.  You remain in my thoughts.

I am so sorry you are going through this, but you will have your surgery

when the time is right.  I felt like I had to wait forever to have my DS. I

even had to switch surgeons at the end. This will happen when GOD is

ready for it to happen. Keep up your spirits, it will help you heal better.

We are all here on the board to love and suppoort you through this.

I am always just an e-mail away!

Lots of vitimin C will help your wound  heal. Lots of prayer will help you accept that there are just some things out of our control and we just have to not let it get the best of us. Good luck and think positive thoughts!

So sorry this is still happening.

If its ok with your doctor, start taking a protein supplement to promote healing.  It will help with your current wound and the comming wls.  I took 50g protein supplements daily for about a month pre op and so did my daughter.  It made a big difference in our healing as compared to others.

Unjury is medical grade and used for wls and for preparation and recovery from other surgeries.  Concentrate on healing and get your body prepped so healing from wls will be easier.

Try not to be too discouraged.    Its hard but keep your chin up!

Keep your head up. Look at it this way. Things happen for a reason GOD does no wrong and when he says that it is time it will happen.  I will be praying for you.
