While I haven't yet had surgery, I have been eating protein bars for breakfast for a few years now.  My SIL had WLS 4 years ago and was telling about a bar that she likes. Well I finally renewed my Sam's Club card and called her to ask what bar she used. She said Premier Protein High Protein Bar. I bought a box for about $15. which contains 15 bars with chocolate peanut butter, double chocolate crunch, and yogurt peanut crunch. (she likes the yogurt the best) These ARE really good. My kids (18 and 19) even like them!

Stats: Cals. around 290. Fat around 7g. Sugar about 9g. Fiber 1or 2 g. Protein 30g.

Combination protein Whey and Soy. No trans fat, hydrogenated oils, or high fructose corn syrup.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks for sharing!  I'm always looking for good protein sources.
Some people don't like protein bars because of the carbs, but there are definitely some lower carb choices in bars out there for a special treat.

I haven't tried yours -- no Sam's Club close to me -- but my favorite is the Pure Protein line, especially the chocolate and chocolate/peanut butter.  Apparently they have shakes and other things too, but I haven't noticed them in the stores.  (www.eatgoodlookgreat.com)  I buy a six-pack at Wal-Mart for $6.27, which is within pennies per bar of the Costco price.

Here's the nutritional info for the chocolate/peanut butter:
(One of these days I'll learn how to cut and paste the pretty box so it looks better.)

WHOA... way too many calories. I have Macik too and this would not fall in with his program. I'm 4 months out and only eat 500- 600 cals daily total..... and way too much sugar.

I use the Atkins.... 1 g sugar and a lot less cals.
