Are there any 3 month multi-disciplinary programs?

Are there any hospitals or doctors that offer a 3 month multi-disciplinary program in Georgia? I'm looking for one to follow for insurance purposes. If there isn't one, I guess I'll have to schedule appointments with those specific doctors individually.

I'm pretty sure you have to use one of their surgeons, but they do have the program there with the nutritionists/dietitians, exercise therapists and psychologist in house. They have a seminar that I'm going to on Aug. 13. You should call them to see if they have any space left.
What insurance do you have?
I've learned that most bariatric surgeons are familiar with the 3-month process required by your insurance. I'm also seeing Dr. Macik next week and his office told me they are familiar with it and will refer me to all the people I need to see in order to qualify. HTH

I did the 3 month multi-disciplinary program with Dr. Lin at Emory. I have Aetna ins. They did everything for me. It was really pretty easy - they walked me through every step and helped me schedule everything. They do make you start with their seminar. You can't even schedule an appt until you have been to that seminar.

I have Aetna and unfortunately i'm no longer interested in the RNY. I'll call Emory today and see what they say. Thanks dearly for your responses.

I notice you are going to Dr. Champion. Does he do DS? I thought only Maynard, Hobson, and Smith did DS in GA?

Is this the same Dr. Champion who is a recovering drug addict? Also MAynard is a recovering alcoholic and was kicked out of med school becasuse of alcoholism and incompetence.

Please research whoever you use thoroughly.

Don't be afraid to travel out of state if you need to. You will find there are few DS surgeons to choose from.

Dr. Smith would get my vote if you need someone in Ga, but he doesn't take a lot of the insurance plans.

Yes. Research led me to exclude him I'm not intersted in Open DS so I didn't even look Maynards way. I attempted to see Dr. Smith but was so rudely treated by their staff that I refuse to pay them for any services. Even if it's paid for by insurance. I've been leaning heavily towards Dr. Husted in Somerset, KY. My PCP isn't pro WLS so I must find one that is.

Don't rule out Dr. Smith. He is a really good surgeon. While I have heard a few complaints about his staff, I have never heard a bad thing about him. Maybe sit in on one of his support meetings and get to know his patients. He was my top choice, and it is best to get someone close by.

Why did you chose not to use him? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see you're a native Georgian but opted for a surgeon in Tenn.
