UHC came through yesterday!!!! Waiting on a surgery date. Hoping for July 2. Can't wait to be "independent" of all this excess weight and living free from diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol and hypertension (whew!).

Congrats. I hope you can get the date you want. Let us know what the outcome is. Who is your surgeon. Maybe somebody on here can tell you how far out they schedule?

My surgeon is William Johnson, Jr. with Atlanta Bariatrics. They asked me if I had a preference for a date but they need the hard copy of the insurance approval before they will schedule surgery. So hopefully I will have a date by Tuesday :)

Good luck! I hope they can get you in that soon. Will you even have time to do the 2 week diet and pre-op class? That seems very soon? Maybe you can put yourself on a pre-op diet?

My last support group a week ago was a pre-op teaching class and it was really helpful (emory johns creek). I have already started protein shakes at least once a day for a meal and no carbs. Expect to hear from Dr.'s office any day :)

Hey! I am also going through the same office as you, but Dr. Hart is my surgeon. I would love the opportunity to talk with you more. All the info was submitted to my insurance company this pastr Friday morning. I also have UHC...and I am so very nervous they will not approve me! I also have Type 2 Diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypertension..
