Support Groups?

I am thinking of going to a support group tomorrow at Emory @Johns Creek.  I have spoke to UHC about signing up for WLS.  A case manager is going to call me Monday or by Tuesday.  I know I need 6 months of a doctor supervised  weight loss program and 6 months of counseling.  I was trying to get started this month with both.

My question is if I go to the support group, how do I prove I was there?  And do you think it will count even though i had not spoken to the case manager yet?

I have signed up for a "new patient" seminar conducted by one of the doctors I am thinking of using.   I just want to try and have this month "count",

HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT STARTING UP A SUPPORT GROUP

Since when does Emory Johns Creek have a support group meeting on Saturday?  New one on me.  I just went to a support group meeting there this past Wednesday.

Emory Johns Creek (as well as other hospital groups in the area) are well aware of the requirements for the SHBP people and there is a sign in.  EJC, specifically has a spot where you check what insurance you have (specifically for the UHC/CIGNA SHBP people).  And just because you haven't spoken to the case manager yet doesn't matter, it should still count no problem.

Thanks.  It is a "bariatric support group".  The gastric bypass and lap-band ones don't meet on Saturday...Doesn't seem like too many WLS groups meet on Saturday.  So, hopefully I will get some good feedback.

You will enjoy this group and learn a great deal.  I alternate between saturdays and wednesdays depending on my schedule.

I'll be at that meeting also.  Dr. Hart's office just started this support group recently.  If you have any questions about it counting for UHC requirement  Lynne Winne, coordinator at Emory Johns Creek, is the one you should talk to.

there is a sign in sheet @ EJC meetings.  They will make sure you get your "credit"
