wanting to change surgeon
I've learned that each doctor has different criteria's. My doctor didn't say i needed to lose wieght and he also doesn't require me to go on a liquid diet 2 weeks prior. I'm 364 and he's not making me do any of that however, he did say that for some he does make them do it, depending on the size of the belly. Good luck, hopefully i answered your questions. I would research some doctors and if you need to change doctor to get the procedure than do it.

Does Dr. Hixson not take your insurance? Call your insurance and find out what your out of pocket expenses are (copay, deductible, coinsurance for BOTH in network and out of network providers) for your procedure. You likely will have to pay $$ either way at some point. It's pretty rare these days for an insurance to not require a patient to pay some part of their procedure.
