I don't know about Dr. Hixon, but I can tell you that MANY surgeons have a fee they require you to pay that is not covered by insurance.  Different docs give different reasons for the fee.  But the amount varies from surgeon to surgeon.  I paid $250...and I've heard some pay up to $2500.

Mine was a little over $1300. they had an $1800 package, but I chose the smaller one.

I have NEVER heard of a fee being waived or discounted for Medicaid patirents.  Medicaid is already screwing the surgeon ove by not paying them what they deserve, so they won't want to lose anymore money.

You either need to find someone with a smaller fee, or save up.   They likely aren't going to do your surgery until you've paid your portion up front.

You can try to finance it, but I'm assuming if you have Medicaid you don't work.

Good Luck.
