My papers still have not been faxed to Cigna. Shame on Dr. V's staff!!!

I made my 3 calls today, and the latest is they will send it to Cigna this week, but that's the same thing they told me last week and the week before!

I learned they have booked all the July appts for Dr. Voellinger, and they're half way through August. So, even if I were approved tomorrow, it would be late August or September before I would get a date.

THIS SUCKS!!! AND IT SUCKS ONLY LIKE 5 DS SURGEONS IN THE COUNTRY ARE COVERED BY SHBP CIGNA, SO IT'S  NOT LIKE I REALLY HAVE THE CHOICE TO SWITCH TO SOMEBODY ELSE!!!!

Not really trying to get a pity party going, but just wanted to update everybody that's been asking about me.  I sure hope this is worth the wait.

I was looking at my paring knife on the kitchen counter last night, and was thinking with a sewing kit, some scissors, a bottle of tequila, and a roll of duct tape I can do my own DS.    God know's I've studied those medical graphics enough.  "Mammy boil some water and get some clean rags!"

Ok, it's lame, but lately I gotta cheer myself up anyway U can.

Oh, come on LaShelle. Remember me from Dr. Smith's support group? (Overweight blond teacher) Do you remember me talking about how disappointed I was because I would have to wait until Thanksgiving because I could't get it approved before school started? You sat there and told me that if I had to wait until Thanksgiving it is because that is when it is SUPPOSED to happen! Things happen for a reason. Remember?

I know you are disappointed and I feel your pain, but it'll be okay.

Hey girl!!!   It is all worth the wait!!  Hang in there!  Keep up the good attitude and keep away from that paring knife!! LOL    You might slip and  cut something off that you might want to use again.. LOL
The hardest part for me was the waiting and jumping thru the hoops so I remember how it is to be sooo close but yet soooo far away!!!  God has a plan just sit back and it will be here before you know it.  Keep yourself busy with other task in the mean time.. You know the old saying a watched pot never boils!!

Big Hug!!

I am sorry! It stinks when people won't get a move on. But, all things work out - you may not be supposed to have surgery until then. Keep smiling! You will get there!

I feel your pain!

I was approved for surgery with Dr. Maynard in December 2007.  I got sick so it was rescheduled for January.  A week before surgery, Dr. Maynard called to tell me Dekalb Medical had deciided not to allow the procedure open and that was the way he did it.  After waiting several months for him to get on staff at a different hospital I went to Dr. Smith and finally had my surgery in October.  I waited ten months from the date I was first scheduled until I had the surgery and that was after waiting for ever for the initial insurance approval, etc.

By the time I went to the hospital in October I felt like something would block me as I went into the OR!  Now, eight months later and down 131 lbs., I still feel like I am dreaming!  Trust me, it will finally happen!  Keep up your spirits and put the knife back in the drawer!
