Anyone know of a good low carb/high protein power bar? I love these things but can't find one with these specifications! Thanks!

I like the Balance, Carb well Carmel and Chocolate bar.  Tastes really good. They carry it in peanut butter too, but to me it doesn't tastes as good (be care full eating bars sometimes people start eating them like candy and they have lots of calories).

It is hard to find.  I usually find it at Walmart and sometime Kroger.  I have called Publix and they have gotten it in for me before.

I will eat protein bars when I am in a pinch, but I really like eating "real food or protein" instead.

Take care,

Ginger

I love the South Beach Diet Cereal Bars....yes...these cereal bars (made with soy nuggets) have 10 g protein, 5 g fat, 6 g sugar and only 140 calories.  I have one every day.  Three delicious flavors: Cinnamon-Raisin, Chocolate and Peanut Butter. I get them at Walmart for about $3.69 per box (sometimes they are on sale!)  Each box has 5 bars.   Here's a link to see the nutrition label:  http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-south-beach-high-prot ein-cereal-i101114

These are delicious.

Good luck finding what you want!

Best,
Cindy

Publix has these (South Beach Bars) on sale this week...I thin****il Wednesday or Thursday.
They're buy one, get one free.  Can't remember their regular price for these, but I'm pretty sure it comes out to less than $2 per box.

Make sure you look at them, though.  Some are the high protein....and some others have high fiber but not much protein.

It's really hard to find a good protein bar that is low in sugar and high in protein.

I use the Atkins bars because they are easy to find. I usually eat half of one for my AM snack and the other half for my PM snack. There is 15 g of protein and only 1 g of sugar in the Atkins Advantage Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar, and no sugar alcohol. Sometimes for breakfast,  I use the Atkins DayBreak Peanut Butter Fudge Granola Bar which also has 1 g sugar and no sugar alcohol and 10 g of protein.

They both taste good. I've tried lots that taste bad or have too much sugar alcohol in them. For example, I tried the Think Thin Chocolate Fudge bar because it had no sugar, but I quickly found out that tasted gross and that 15 g of sugar alcohol is too much for me.

Just be careful to only use them to supplement your protein intake, don't rely on the bars as your only source of protein.
