Terrible news

My husband was told this morning that due to budget cuts, he no longer has a job. I know we hear about this happening all the time lately, but you never think it will happen to you. He brings home about 60% of our income, so this will obviously hurt us a lot. I know God will provide, but it is so hard not to worry about where the money is going to come from. And, of course, there is no chance of me having surgery anytime soon since this is happening. Please pray that he will find a new job soon! Thanks.

Wont they still give him 3 months of insurance after his last day?
If so then you may still be able to have your surgery.
I pray that things work out for you.

Rhonda,

Actually, I carry the insurance, but without his income, I can't afford my portion plus the gas/hotel fees from traveling to Atlanta (which is 4+ hours away for me). It will happen when it is suppose to, I suppose.  Thanks.

Remeber that God dosen't give us anything we can't handle!  Times are very tough for most of us, we all need to  support and help one another! You and your family have prayers going up tonight! Hang in there!

Sorry to hear that.  But make sure you continue to do your supervised diet anyway b/c according to most ins. it will be good for up to two years.  Good luck and God bless!

So sorry to hear about this!

On a positive note- you carry the insurance so you won't have to start your journey over or pay thousands for COBRA.

Susan I am very sorry to hear about this, but please if you can find a way, don't put off your surgery!!  I know shbp is covering wls now, but with the proposed budget cuts, what if they drop it for next year.

As far as the travel expense. Check to see if there is a Hospitality House in Atlanta. They offer free lodging for out of town patients.  Or see if you can find an angel on here who has a spare room for you.    I am using the Hospitality house in Charlotte and a couple of ladies on here are using the one in Nashvile. They are all free. They have free lodging, meals, laundry, and transportation to and from the hospital.  Also you can get really good deals on priceline.

Do you all have a 401k? You can borrow money for medical expenses.

I know this is bad news and a shock, but God will open a window when a door closes.  If you want this make it happen!
