Trying to get surgery before 'back to school' time
Whoever you use, you are going to have to attend their seminar. I don't know of any surgeon that doesn't require you to attend theirs. After the seminar, you'll have a huge stack of forms to submit to see if they'll accept you as a patient. This can take a few weeks just for them to review your application. Then you're going to have to all the pre-op testing. You'll have a consult visit with the surgeon, After you do all the pre-op stuff, they'll have to send it to insurance, and then you'll have to wait for the scheduler after insurance approves you.
Even if you did a rapid, expedited, whirlwind, fastfood drivethrough process, I would count on a minimum of 3-4 months for all this to take place. If you have done all your pre-op testing it may be sooner, but not much.
I started this process in November, and still don't have a date. Be patient. You don't want to choose a surgeon just because you have to wait. Wherever you go, you'll have to wait about the same time. Both Hobson and Macik have a lot of patients, and likely have most of June and July already booked. I haven't heard any complaints about either of them. So, choose who you believe to best one in your heart and you won't have any regrets in the end.
Dr. Rashid has moved to DeKalb medical I believe. You may get in with her sooner, since she's starting a new practice. She was shbp approved when I last checked and DeKalb Medical is a coe.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but even if you are going into this with faith, it shouldn't be blind faith. Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

But if they were operating on me I 100% would NOT miss the seminar! You really do need to go to the seminar before you make your chpice. Plus go to a few other surgeons seminars too.
