Sorry you have to go through this.  I totally understand what you're saying....if we could do this ourselves before....

Please take the time to get actively involved in support sessions if you're not already.  I went to support meetings 3x/month for seven months before my surgery and got involved in the Georgia OH Meet N Greets and it has been amazing!  I've met some fabulous friends here/there who I was able to talk to in my first weeks out when things were strange and they were incredibly helpful with some small things as well as a few big questions.  Two women also warned me right after surgery to not panic about the dreaded week 3 stall.  Then it happened to me and I wasn't so worried.  I think I'm probably a slow loser, and I really think the support I've gotten has kept me more focused and happier with my decision.

Best of luck to you!  Will you be at the Meet N Greet on Saturday?  Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun!

well most insurances have this requirement, so with medicaid trying to function like an hmo, i geuss they are following suit. I believe this has been a requirement all along.

have you been on a supervised diet in the past? maybe they can use those records?

otherwise, use this time to get all your pre-op testing. meet some friends for support, and make the best of the situation
