EGD with Sclerotherapy....

I am scheduled for this edg on 06/02/10 has it been worth it? Any problems since your last post? I am really kind of scared, heard some real horror stories.

DId you have your EGD Scleratherapy?
Did it hurt?
Have you lost weight?
Are you staying full?

Yes, I had the EGD scleratherapy. There was no pain,but I am still hungry and have not lost weight.  Thank you for getting back to me.  They told me that some people have to have it done more than once. Did you? I appreciate any information.  Kathy

EGD...........schlerotherapy.........stoma-phyx.........ROSE.........THESE PROCEDURES DON'T WORK!!! Please don't waste your money or your insurance companies money on these!!!!!!!

June 27, 2010 - Had the EGD with Sclerotherapy yesterday.  After being almost 10 years out Dr. Duncin said that my stomach was the size of an Orange... :(
And the opening was about 30??
All sounds pretty big to me.
The staff at the Center where I went for the Procedure was Professional and Informative....most of all...very caring.
On the way home I had dry heaves. and once I got into bed, I felt better.  Had the procedure around 10am and left around 11:45.
I felt better around 5-6pm.
I do not feel pain free today, I still feel uncomfortable.
All I had yesterday was 4 popsicles and 1/2 cup of soup. Definitely NOT hungry.
So far today I had a THIN Protein shake of which I drank only 2 ounces. a half a cup of chicken broth, and 1 popsicle...definitely NOT hungry.
Scale is down one pound. 

June 28, 2010- Starting day 3. I still have pain/discomfort between my breastbone.  Burping is NOT fun. HURTS!  Still eating Sugar Free Popsicles and Broth.  I added the 45 grams of Protein WHEY PROTEIN ( they come in long shot containers and taste like liquid Jello ).
Would I do this again??  As of today...NO.
The scale is down 2 pounds. 
I feel like I have a low grade fever but the thermometer says no...it has to be because of no food and the discomfort.
This is definitely tough.  Will keep you informed of the progress.

Unfortunatly won't be much progress. The procedure does NOT work! It just stretches right back out. Did u not check this out on the revision board prior to having this???

Yes...I am using this procedure to kick start my weight loss again.  I take full responsibility for my weight gain and this tool should jump start me with the weight loss. I am living this process so that I can FINALLY change my eating habits again. 
First with Liquid Diet and then gradually adding foods....HIGH PROTEIN,,, NO CARBS.
I am very determined to allow this procedure to help me change my bad habits.
It IS the reason why one would do this INCOMFORTABLE procedure, no???

Well I wish u all the best with it but from what I have read all the studies indicate that that and the ROSE are ineffective (patients generally lose initially then it just re-streches). I just hate to see WLS patients taken advantage of by doing ineffective surgeries on them!!!
