I had mine done yesterday and yes, it was pretty much pain free. I do have a little discomfort as far as getting a little ill. I have been  a bit. I am doing liquids and feel the restriction. I am trying to get the 25lbs off that I recently gained after a back injury and subsequent back surgery. I needed a new start. Because of the injury and the stress that it created, I wanted to eat everything and tried!

Keep me posted and I will as well.

So glad to see others are having this done.  It has been really hard to find info on the sucess of this that isn't negative.  I believe in Dr Duncan and truly don't see him recommending a unnecessary procedure.  I think bottom line this a tool to jump start us and re-train us on what we forgot or bad habits we got back into to help up us lose some extra ounds.  Defintiely feel the restriction...I am now 5 days out and have lost 4lbs so very happy!  Pretty bored w/ the liquid diet but it's not that I am hungry more I miss the taste of food if that makes sense. I am so ready for pudding and real soup...lol

Need Opinion/Advice....straws & carbonation are two areas I really started slacking on after time passed.  I would use a straw everyday and not think twice of drinking diet soda, beer, or Champagne.  I know this is a no no w/ Gastric Bypass but I was curious what your thoughts we on it or if any of you have heard of other's experience?  I talk to Lori (Dr Duncan's nurse) and she really said those things are a no no FOREVER! I can give up soda but to never taste a beer or have a glass of champagne..... :(

Hey.. I gave up diet coke the first time... and have been suceesfull in giving it up again.  I have never used a straw post bypass.  I am 2 weeks post egd and am eating very little.... not really hungry and dont have a big appetite but I am over soup.... and liquids.... I have added a few things back in but am missing the taste of things.  I was told in the very beginning not to use a staw and have kept with that, but 6 months out I had to have a tatse of diet coke and dang if I didnt get hooked again.  I also re hooked my self on sugar as well.  I am now off the sugar again and am doing quite well I am down 15lbs so far!!!  YEAH!!!

Connie,

Just checkin in seeing how you are doing?  I am almost 3 weeks out. I have lost 12lbs.  The odd thing is I am never hungary but I do not experience fullness so I have to depend on myself for my limitations.  Did you experience this as well?

Hi Ladies!

I am three days post sclerotherapy, and I am having a really hard time with the liquid diet!  It is so hard now that I have kids and am constantly around food.  And, when I went to drink water I started guzzling without thinking.  Argh!

Where are you all at in your procedures?  I was told to expect 2 to 3 procedures to be needed.  Anyone else on the God awful liquid Cipiro?  Yuck!!  But, I'm in it to win it so will do what needs to be done.  Lots of luck to all!
In the process of seeking a revision to RNY(12/03).  Sclerotherapy has been recommended after exploratory endoscopy last week.  I am meeting with my surgeon 4/9 to discuss what I am going to do.

I'm six months out from EGD with Sclerotherapy and eight months out from a StomophyX. My EGD/ StomophyX surgeon has yet to follow up with me 6 months out. So, how does he claim that these procedures are successful? How are the metrics gauged if nobody from his office ever contacts me?

NO SUCCESS on either procedure!!  Please do not waste your time or money on these procedures. I had posted questions on here prior, but rec'd no replies. I should have taken that as a clue, but I was desparate for some help with my recent weight gain. I only wish someone on here would have warned us all that these are only money making procedures for some surgeons.  I'm 7 yrs out from my original RNY success, but gained back about 40 lbs in the last couple years. After this EGD with Sclerotherapy,  I was in incredible intense pain, and was not given any pain meds afterwards. I've had another EGD performed last month with someone new, and apparently there is NO evidence of the prior StomaphyX. I'm now scheduled for a RNY revision with another surgeon out of state.

Be cautious about asking for success stories from Surgeons, if they can't back it up with referrals, references and their patients who have agreed to discuss their success with other future candidates/patients.

Good luck to us all in our search for success.
