Sorry to hear you are feeling so rotten lately. I hope that writing it down helped to get some of it out of your system.
I understand what you mean about being unproductive at work. Since my fight started last year with the State, I know I haven't been as productive as I should be. It was especially bad from about October thru March. Now, I'm down to crunch time. I have 8 work days (and not even all full days) to wind down my work year. I will be back for teacher post-planning. And I feel like I've been more productive in the last 1 1/2 weeks than I've been most of the year!
When you don't like your job, it makes things 100% worse. We've all been there at some time or other. It's very stressful and very depressing. Unfortunately, you need the job for the insurance right now. I would suggest looking towards after your surgery & recovery...then start looking for a new job. And don't take something that simply gets you out of where you are now. If you want to stay with the government, maybe you can find a position at a different office?????
I can't help you with the food dreams. Food is something I don't usually dream about.
And if you'd like to send your son my way, my yard REALLY needs to be mowed!
I've been off my computer for a few days...so sorry I missed this.
I'm so sorry you're going through this! You sound like I was feeling last summer. It didn't seem like anything was going right. In my case, I knew my insurance wouldn't cover WLS, so I felt there was no hope for me to ever get the weight off. I didn't seem to get pleasure from anything and was in a total rut. Then I started going to support meetings and I found hope...and an amazing amount of support from people in all phases of the weight loss journey, many of whom I now call my friends.
I am also a person who doesn't talk about my feelings that much. It's hard to open up....but it's so much eaiser with people who have "been there."
As for the failure, shame, guilt, etc.: I think we all go through that to some extent. I think that's why I didn't have the surgery a few years ago.. (I looked into WLS 3 years earlier.) I figured if I ignored it, I wouldn't have to face those feelings. But those feelings are part of facing the issue and getting better.
Anyway, please try to stay involved in the WLS process, with OH and any other support you can get. It was 7 months from my first support meetings until my surgery. (That's this time around...I looked into the surgery 3 years earlier but wasn't ready.) It seemed to take forever...but looking back, it seemed so quick.
Call me or PM me anytime. I'm here for you, LaShelle....as are so many others on this board.
