support group meetings...
I'm not sure what you mean by "willy nilly" and "STANDING," but Dr. Dennis Smith has three meetings per month, which are open even if you're not his patient. Check out his Web site at www.advancedobesitysurgery.com.

Oh, what a pain!
I don't remember what part of town you live in, but if you're in the NW Atlanta area (or can get here) you might want to check out Dr. Smith's meetings (www.advancedobesitysurgery.com) I have been going since September and there's never been a change except once when it was moved to a different room in the same building because the usual room wasn't available. And if you get on their e-mailing list, they send you a monthly update as to who the planned speakers are, etc.
Edited to add: three different locations...two in Marietta, both very close to I-75; and one in Austell at Cobb WellStar Hospital.
I'm sure there must be others with similar reliability in other parts of town, so hopefully someone else will chime in....
