Cigna SHBP... the latest update
She said they decided on their conference call today if you were already in process (have started the coaching either online or phone) YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DO 6 MONTHS SUPPORT GROUP.
Well, in my humble opinion at this point anything they say is not worth a hungry fly on a hill of doo doo. 
But, at least it makes me hopeful that when I submit in May, I won't get any crazy surprises.Bad news is if you haven't already started (didn't I warn you months ago not to procrastinate and start!) you DO have to have the 6 months support meetings.
The meetings HAVE to be affiliated with a surgeon's office :-( and the surgeon has to operate out of a center of excellence. If you live hours away from a COE surgeon, good luck!
So here's my plan of action:
1. continue the petition,
so they'll get the picture and not keep adding stuff. Plus someone should be reprimanded for not having this stuff together in the first place!2. continue the online coaching, phone coaching, support meetings, add a COE support meeting too, Did I leave anything out?
Even though they say we don't have to do all this stuff I DON'T TRUST THEM! I am not giving them a reason to deny me. Maybe I am a little paranoid, but at this point don't I have a right to be?
I pray they don't cancel the wls coverage next year. I can't afford to pay out of pocket for my aftercare, and if they exclude wls, they WILL exclude the aftercare (keep this in mind if you're considering lap band or rny because you may have to pay for your own fills and revisions in the future)
BTW Kathy Sampson is assigning me a case manager. Seems like the telephone contact I posted about earlier does exist. She said the case manager will make sure I am on track and will let me know of any changes in the requirements. She will be an inside Cigna contact to guide me through the process. I'll keep you posted on what that's like.
