I just got off the phone with Yolanda in customer service. 1st, she was shocked they have added another requirement. Apparently the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, and nobody had informed customer service the requirements have changed.

So, as of now the 6 mos support meetings is a requirement.  BUT, they don't know what is considered an acceptable support group meeting. Hmmmm?  How are we supposed to do something if they don't know what we're supposed to do.  Is taking with 2 of your friends about the surgery a meeting?  Is chatting on this site a meeting?  (I'll write a letter to vouch for you), does it have to be with your surgeon (keep in mind mine is 4 hrs away in Charlotte,  Will my meetings with the OH meet n greets count?  How loosely, or strictly will they define meeting? Hmmm???  How far back can the meetings go? I attended meetings w/ Dr. Maynard in 2004, but stopped. I started back with Jeanie in October, so can those be added?

I'm rambling, huh?  But that's just how confusing this has become.

Well the semi-good news is that SHBP has gotten wind of a potential lawsuit!  They are on a conference call right now with Cigna trying to figure this thing out.  Yolanda said they are removing some of the requirements. Hope they won't remove something and just add some more stuff.   She is to call me back and let me know what the outcome of the conference call is.

So here is what we meed to do:

1. CALL, CALL CALL and bug the sh-t out of Cigna and shbp!   this conference call is proof that our complaining is working, but we need EVERYBODY to call!   Lurkers please help! We have strength in numbers.

2.  When you call ask your customer service rep to escalate your call and register it as an "administrative complaint" .  These are forward to shbp.  She said when they get these they act more swiftly on the issue.

3. If you don't already have one, get a notebook and start documenting EVERYTHING.  If this goes to a lawsuit, we need as much info documented as possible.  Write down, names, dates, conversations... E-mail if you can to establish a paper trail.

4. Keep this website confidential. Yolanda wanted to know the name of our online group, but I elected not to share it with her. Since, we don't have a clue what they're discussing, why should they have the inside scoop on what we share on here.   If they were 300 lbs and considering wls they would know about this website already. And if they knew about the website and the real people whose lives they are toying with they wouldn't be acting like such ignorant ******** at the state office!

Does anyone know if our legal insurance will work for a class action lawsuit? I thought I remember reading somewhere you can't use it for a lawsuit against the employer. I wonder if it will work for a suit against Cigna?

I suspect since our insurance is self funded, you can't use it against Cigna because technically Cigna is just keeping track of things for the SHBP (in the same manner a small company might use a payroll company like ADP).

As far as the lawsuit, you'll have to keep us up to date (I doubt that is my attorney, but we are working on my appeal already).
