The website is up and running. I completed week 5 today. Now I don't know whether it makes any diffreence, since they're saying you need support meetings and not the coaching???

If you do the online course do you still need the support meetings?  Do you need both?

I will be done w/ my 6 mos diet next month, and I don't want anything to hold me up!.

I have the actual documents and it does not say anything about support meetings.

I can only get to the first page. Then it kicks me out and says site not accessible.

I am very frustrated. The SHBP rep is on vacation this week. I am going to demand to be put into week 5 next week when I finally talk to her. That is where I should be...instead I am still languishing in week 3. I am ready to submit everything except for this stupid program.

EDITED:  Ok, I haven't been online in a day or two, and now I am even more upset that they are still changing things. I really (naively, I guess) thought that by signing up and paying my money each month, I had entered into a contract that would not change over the course of the year. It seems like now they have seen how much this is gonna cost them, they are doing everything they can to drive people away from having the surgery - or to postpone it until they can withdraw the coverage for next year.

My thoughts exactly!  that's why I am detedrmined to whatever I need to to get it done asap!  I bet they'll drop the coverage next year.  The only problem will be figuring a way to pay for your post op care out of pocket if that happens.     I am glad I didn't drag my feet and I started this process in November instead of waiting for the new year.

Is there a way to contact Cigna by e-mail. I feel the need to start creating a paper trail in case I get a denial.   There won't be anyway to verify what they're telling you on the phone, and it seems to be changing daily lately.   I don't see a place on the website to e-mail them.

That is why I got them to fax me the requirements. I thought if I had it in writing, I would be safe. Apparently not.

Well, I will continue with the coaching and I will find a support group to go to asap.  So, now I am looking at August....sigh...

I would think, even if they dropped the WLS coverage, they would still pay for aftercare since they paid for the original surgery.  Maybe they would kick and scream about doing lapband fills...but just general follow up with your surgeon would be covered (heck I had 2 appts with surgeons last year when WLS wasn't covered and they paid...it was just a surgical consult - never said what it was for).

Your documents wouldn't say anything about the support meetings.  That was added on 3/18/09 and took effect on 3/19/09.

I FOUND A WAY TO EMAIL CIGNA:

LOG ON TO MYCIGNA.COM

CLICK THE MY PLAN TAB (MIDDLE ONE) UP TOP

UNDER "RELATED HEALTH RESOURCES" 3RD GRAY BOX ON RIGHT THERE IS A LINK TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE BY E-MAIL.

I PLAN TO START E-MAILING IN ADDITION TO CALLING, SO I CAN START HAVING DOCUMENTATION OF ALL THIS.

ALSO, WE ALL NEED TO START CALLING AND COMPLAINING. I DON'T IF ANYBODY ELSE IS COMPLAINING, BUT I HAVE.

Emailing Cigna is good and all but I believe the problem is the SHBP... not necessarily Cigna.. It's the State that keeps changing their requirements.
