Does anyone know off a lap-band surgeon in Ga that the prices are under $15,000?

No, but do you really want a CHEAP surgeon? I mean it's not like getting a pair of shoes on sale?  If someone is WAY below the market price I'd be cautious?  I would rather prolong the surgery and save up the $$$ for a better surgeon than trying to get someone super cheap.

Some less expensive options may be travelling to a neighboring state like Alabama where surgeons may cost less because of the area, or if you're brave travelling to Mexico.

Can you fincnce your surgery/ Borrow from family, Cash in 401k, retirement fund, refinance house?   Is there any other way you can come up with the money?

Do you have a co-morbid condition that requires surgery, like a gall bladder removal or tubal ligation? Can your surgeon do this at the same time and charge some of the OR and anesthesia fees to your insurance and you just pay for the wls part of it?   This may be a way to work around the red tape.

I don't know what his office does for self-pay patients. I really like him. My sister is a surgery resident at Emory and she worked with him last summer. She really respects him and thinks he is a very good surgeon. It's nice to have an inside person giving a reccomendation. I work in a hospital - I am an x-ray tech. I know all about how drs can be one way in front of their patients and a very different way in action and with the people they work with. ;o)
Good luck with your search, I hope you find an affordable surgeon.

Hello Caramela,
I was a CASH PAY, and I went to Alabama to have mine. I used Dr. Byron Freeman. The cost there was better than Atlanta. I only paid just a little over $18,000.00. That was with all my Doctor charges and Hospital stay, and being knock out. Check out the Alabama Board and his link is at the top.

You may want to check out Dr. Dennis Smith in Marietta.  He has a special discount program (all inclusive) for self-pay patients.  I had the VSG so not sure if he does lap band.
