I need help. I need to find a psychiatrist and psychologist who are experienced with WLS patients. I saw Dr. Walfish for my pre op eval but he just doesn't seem to be someone I would open myself up to.
Could someone please offer some recommendations? Preferrably in the north and NE metro areas.
Thanks!
EDIT: After researching online and sifting through docs on gapsychiatry.org (or something like that) I found a doc that specializes in eating disorders and bipolar (among other things). Dr. Maziar in Atlanta. My appointment is for Thursday. Anyone ever seen him?

Where did you find Dr. Walfish? He did mine several years ago, but then my insurance put in an exclusion for WLS as I was getting ready to submit...now I am going through all this again, but could not find Dr. Walfish's information.
Do you still have his number?
Dr. Santavicca is who my surgeon recommends. 404-653-1117

I also saw Dr. Santavicca for pre op and he is somebody I would consider going back to. If you need a psychologist for ongoing therapy, I strongly recommend Dr. Roz Nation. She has an office in Smyrna and one in Jonesboro. I saw her for several years before surgery and am still with her. She is fantastic.
