I just found out that my insurance has an exclusion no wls after 3 months of a six month clearance. That sucks! I was told I would have to finace 15,000 for the lap-band does anyone have any advice?

could you clarify this  "no wls after 3 months of a six month clearance"  does that mean you have to have the surgery 3 mos after they approve you?    Other plans have this stipulation.  If you don't schedule it in a certain time period, you have to start over.

No I have BCBS PPO of Texas and in my paper work it doesn't state that there is a exclusion on bariatric surgerys. So I went ahead and started my 6 month clearance in Jan. 09 after 3 months of doing psy, nut, sleep study, and what every else I find out that the insurance will not cover my lap-band at all because of the the exclusion of weight loss surgerys but in the benefits package that I signed in Dec. 08 it is not an exclusion.

Find out if the company you work for has an alternate insurance plan and see if that plan would cover it.  I've worked places that offered 2 different companies you could get insurance with.  The only problem is that you can usually only change over once a year...in the mean time keep working on everything else that the insurance company WILL cover until you can get it figured out!  Don't give up on getting the qualifications for the surgery!

They only have one insurance because the last insurnace company that we had stated it in the package no wls. So I am looking and completed the all the things I need to do I only have 3 more appointments and a Upper G I in April I think I will call the insurance company and speak with someone myself and if all else falls I will have to find a lap-band surgern under $15,000. Thanks !
