If you are an SHBP employee with Cigna health insurance, you need to send a letter to John Oxendine (the state insurance commissioner). I received a response today and was given a case number. They are investigating the situation.

P.S. He's supposedly planning to run for governor...FYI

Great idea. Can you share the fax number? Us UHC people aren't much better off. We still can't get anything in writing either.

Started researching the DS in Dec 2008. 2 years and one baby later(my 3rd), I'm finally switched!

Since I'm not familiar with the problems associated with UHC, I can't comment there. But remember, Commissioner Oxendine can only help if there is "wrongdoing". With Cigna, they keep changing the requirements. Originally, we were told we just had to follow Cigna's policies. Then they added the phone coaching OR online coaching. Now they are telling us both (and yes, I was told BOTH). I'm just glad he's going to investigate and I didn't get the brush off.

All the requirements are listed on www.myuhc.com . It is under benefits and it list everything we have been told on the phone. I also believe we have to go 7 visits to the pcp for a total of 6 months, not just 6 visits.

HEY RAVEN, WHY IS IT THAT YOU THINK WE HAVE TO COMPLETE 7 VISITS IN 6 MONTHS INSTEAD OF 6 VISITS IN 6 MONTHS? MY OPTUM NURSE STATED 6 IN 6 MONTHS. DID YOU HEAR SOMETHING I (WE) DIDN'T???? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ANY/ALL YOU HEARD SO THAT I CAN COVER ALL MY BASES. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

My nurse (Faith) told me 6 full months, not 6 visits. I began in mid January and she said I would be ready to go in mid July. I will ask again, but from other things I have read, this seems to be the case. If you here different, please let me know because that would be great, one month less.

I sent my letter to Oxendine's office today. Everyone needs to do this! We have power in numbers. You can download a complaint form from the insurance commissioner's website.
