Hey everyone!!! I have a new job it's graaaaaaavy(LOL), but I'm afraid I wont be able to take off for surgery with it being new and all, not only new but it's temp until I prove myself ,my duties are very very light Iam a receptionist and all I do is answer the phone and watch a monitor all day long how much time is needed off after surgery and are we allowed light duty and if so how soon after surgery.

It depends entirely on your situation - how well your surgery goes, presence or lack of complications, how quickly you heal, how quick you regain your energy... the list goes on.  I think it's safe to say that you'll be told by your surgeon that you can return 2-6 weeks post-op.  If your work duties are as light as you say, you may be able to go back at 2 weeks... IF everything goes according to plan.  Personally, I was scheduled to be out for 6 weeks, but pushed it to 8 because I just didn't have the energy to return at 6.

Don't rush yourself.  Listen to your body and honor it.

Well my surgery went just that good . I was up walking around soon after being brought up from surgery . I went for my 2 week appt. and my insicions have already cleared up . I showed a friend of mine my stomach and they cant tell i had surgery . This is the first surgery i ever had in my life and im very pleased  . Im positive that Dr . T . Duncan wouldnt have sent me home if he didn't feel like i would be ok  . My mother is actually very happy with the way that everything has went . She was actually against me haveing the surgery from the beginning . And didnt expect me to have such a speedy recovery .

NOW Listen to me and  Listen GOOD.... it is not in the guidelines to be released after RNY less than 2 nites......not under any ciru****tances

Everyone has to get up and move around after anthesia.... you have to walk.... it is required.. it is also required to be able to take liquids which should not happen for 24 hrs... you also must be checked for Leaks the next day...there are many check lists guidelines you must have before being released....

Did he check for leaks??? What testing did he do... this is negligent behaviour.....I can't tell you ladies anymore how darn ****** scary this is.... I can't beleive it.....you are not getting your tooth pulled..

I cussed to slap you ladies upside the heads... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the F does God have to do with a doc releasing you the same day for major surgery.....

Why can't u talk about the fact that a doc was negligent, that he had sooo many infractions on his liscense,,,, he has been sued multiple times. Why would you not want to talk about it??? what scares u?

He is taking advantage of you girls that have Medicare... don't u get it... do I have to spell it out...For Jesus sakes....

And no I" m not a dr. but those are the guidelines of Bariatric Surgery..... written by docs
