I working under the assumption that Dr. Scott will be approved as a Center of Excellence by UHC before time for my surgery. I live in northwest Georgia and I didn't want to have to go all the way to Atlanta to have surgery. I have 3-4 more months before my requirements are fulfilled with insurance. I am afraid they won't be ready and I have wasted my time going to see him and his nutritionist when I needed to be going to another doctor. The last I talked to them, they haven't even submitted their application to become a COE with UHC. Should I move on? Dr. Macik is my next choice. Should I go on and meet with him? Is there anyone out there besides me waiting on Dr. Scott?

Hey there.  I'm in the same situation.  I work in Rome but I live in Alabama.  Anyway, I've decided to go to Dalton (which is an hour or so from Rome) to Dr. Ponce and Dr. Fromm at the Hamilton Medical Center.  They also work in Chattanooga, TN.  It's closer than Atlanta for me.  I have Cigna ins. so I'm not sure if the hospital there is on the UHC list or not though.

They aren't on UHC list. Only 2 hospitals in atlanta, one in Savannah and one in Gainesville.
