Do u have the state ins? It seems like that is such a maze... as mine was too. It 's amazing and a wonder anyone gets this surgery covered. Do u know if you have the right documentation???
I got new ins in Jan. I called and called about the surgery and the requirements...at first they gave me "nurse" thru this optimum health who was suppose to help me get approved etc...then 2 wks later called and said our co didn't pay for this plan... back to square one.
So I called and called... wanting to know the criteria for qualifying for surgery... what did I need.. 6 mth diet? etc etc... they didn't have any idea what the guidelines were.... I spent hrs on the phone... Finally Tiffany(dr macik's ins lady) called and got someone and just faxed over my whole file.... We still didn't know the requirements.. and it was enough to get approved...I had been doing all kinds of crap since Sept with another ins carrier....
Isn't this just plain crazy..........!!!!!!!!!!
