Those with SHB...

I have UHN and was finally assigned a case manager by Optum. She hasn't gotten in touch with me yet, but I'm hoping to hear from her this afternoon. Anyone else have any new news?

HI, I AM ALSO WITH UHC AND I TOO JUST GOT ASSIGN A BARIATRIC NURSE. HOWEVER SHE CONTACTED ME THIS MORNING AND SHE STATED THAT THE PRE-OP STUFF THAT I'VE ALREADY COMPLETED(IS OK AND I WILL BE ABLE TO USE IT TO HELP ME GET APPROVED) IN OTHER WORDS, I DON'T HAVE TO START OVER. SHE ALSO COULD NOT TELL ME ANYTHING AND I DO MEAN ANYTHING ABOUT THE 6 MONTH OUTPATIENT COUSELING. BELIEVE ME I TRIED. I KEPT ASKING HER QUESTIONS BOUT THIS, AND SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE OR I WILL HAVE TO CONTACT BEHAVIOR HEALTH. SO I DID AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP ME AND STATED THAT SHE IS MY NURSE AND SHE SHOULD BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN ALL PART OF THE REQUIREMENTS.

i'm calling her tomorrow if i don't hear from her. i understand that she probably has a lot of people assigned to her with the new insurance switch, but i need to get this ball rolling. i'll keep you updated, and could you do the same? thanks!

Hi   I have UHC with SHB...I got my call from the nurse on Monday and she gave me a check list of things I need to do before I can get permission for lap ban surgery. She told me I would have to complete my on-line health quiz, then have six month of a diet with a doctor. And I needed for the behavior people to set me up with 6 month of meetings...I am still waiting for the behavior people to call me and get me started with them.....This certainly slows the process down....I guess it saves the company money because you have to jump thur the hoops to get the help you need.......If anybody finds out about anything else please let me know.and if you know what kind of test i need run before the surgery it would it would be great if you can let me know them...I have bmi of 60..........I am just starting the 6 month waiting game.....
