It is very difficult to find a surgeon who takes Medicaid. The only one I am aware of in Georgia is Dr. Duncan's office and he does not do the DS. Usually if the option is available in South Carolina they want you to stay in South Carolina. You are going to have quite a hard time finding a surgeon that does the DS and takes Medicaid. I would suggest calling their office to see if they would take it.
There is also Dr. David Voellinger in Charlotte, NC, and DR. Ranjan Sudan in Durahm NC. I don't know of anyone in SC that does DS.
Have you checked to see if your insurance covers DS? Most plans exclude it.
Also check to see which DS surgeons are in network. This will help you eliminate a lot of surgeons, and keep you from wasting time with ones not covered.

The only DS docs I know of in GA are Donald Maynard in Conyers and Dennis Smith in Marietta. I have read that there is one in Gainesville, but I think he has very limited experience. Mine was with Dr. Smith and I love him. I first went to Dr. Maynard and he was also wonderful but he did not do the surgery laproscopically and I decided that was important to me. I think he may now do lapro.
