TOPIC OF THE DAY: Checking for a pulse????

LaShelle2
on 12/21/08 11:33 pm - STOCKBRIDGE, GA

Just wanted to make sure everyone is alive. It's been so quiet on the board this past week. I assume everyone is just preoccupied with Christmas festivities.

I am alive and well. Just a little overworked and busy trying to get all my cases completed before the Christmas holidays.  I also had the pleasure of waiting outside in the cold at Belks this weekend at 5:00 am for a $5.00 gift card.  I really wanted that $5000 card, but no such luck.

So the question of the day is:  Relationships and WLS

A recent episode of the reality show Ruby showed her ex boyfriend trying to get back into her life, now that she is losing weight. He openly admits to leaving her because she previously wouldn't lose weight.  He even said he would have married her if she would have lost the weight. Ruby is over 500 lbs.

Would you lose weight to save a relationship or marriage?

What if your spouse did not want you to lose weight? if your spouse was a BBW lover, would you forgo the wls to save your marriage?

What are your thoughts???

Hello Sweetie;
I'm sorry that you stood out in the cold. But you know what you tried.

As far as the Ruby thing, as far as relationships go. If the partent can not support you before the WLS and be there for you than you will be better off with out him or her anyway. I had about that same problem, My ex-husband did not want me before my surgery. But after I lost my weight he wanted me. So SORRY  I told him.

I'm much happier now, and I have found someone that will love me for the person that I am today.

Hey girl.  That 5.00 gift cert should be put to good use now.. lOL  Bless your  heart!! Better luck next time ah?

As far as having WLS to save a marrage/relationship.  I think NOT. Now  if the reason your partner wants you to loose weight is for your  health resaons that is a different story.

I am very lucky in the fact that my husband loved me fat and now he is loving me medium.. LOL but loving me differently.. LOL  Its very nice!

Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!!!

I absolutely adore Dr. Hart and his office staff. I feel like I could not have searched the world over and found a more compassionate doctor. Many people say that he has no bedside manner but that is so far from the truth. I found out that if you make an effort to get to know him then you will see all aspects of his personality... You can not go wrong with him. But then I may be a little biased......

YES... I do know him because he is my doctor. I had my surgery on 12/17 and still in the recovery stage. He is a very matter of fact doctor but does an excellant job as well as has a great group of staff members that suport him. I encourage you to take the next step.

Good Luck,
Amy
