support groups

I am scheduled for the DS on January 7th and live on the southside of Atlanta (Coweta County).  I was wondering if there are any support groups on the southside of Atlanta?  Y'alls help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Coweta County Dilemma!  :}

The closest one to us is at Henry General in Stockbridge.  That is every 3rd Thursday evening.

The rest of them seem to be mostly on the north side.  I was looking to see how many folks would be interested in a support group for us on the southwest side.

Hello Brandi,
I just wanted to let you know that if anyone would like since I work in Newnan, I can find a place to have a meeting once a month there and still have my meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Henry Medical Center. Let me know what you think.

My name is Jeannie and I'm a Support Group Leader at Henry Medical Center. I have my meetings there on the 4th Tuesday of each month, but I will not be having a meeting for December because this will be Christmas week. I will be having my next meeting in January 2009. If you and some theres that live in the Newnan area. I work in that area and I would be willing to start a group there if it is really needed. I'm going to be posting to see if a group is in need on the board. Let me know what you think.

Hi.  I'm having RNY in February and I'm looking for a support group close by.  I'm using Dr. Lin at Emory and they have the support group there but it is a long drive up there.  I live in Zebulon (Close to Griffin).  Thanks for letting me know about the group at Henry Med.  Vickie

I'd say if you want to, Jeannie, go for it!  If you do not want to, I sure understand.   There were two other ladies aside from the folks on thread who voiced interest.  I am sure there are more in the woodworks!
