Holiday Loves Hates
Tell ya what. How bout we just ignore each other? Obviously you are hell bent on twisting my words and starting a cyber chick fight, I say cat you choose to hear dog. Fine, but don't tell me I said dog when I know I didn't. I will not be bullied and I don't play those types of games so you and I really don't need to have any further interaction.
I don't put people on block but you are more than welcome to block me. Either way, you and I have nothing to discuss unless and until you can actually hear and understand me without putting your own little remix on it.
Don't mind the rest of this I'm just talking to myself
*It's so funny to me how people plead for people understand that everyone doesn't observe Christmas, and in the process show no understanding for the fact that some people do and get all hostile about it. Seems a bit hypocritical. Oh well QT, whadda ya gonna do? Takes all kinds to make the world go round*
It is never too late to be what you might have been

I am so shocked at you. I understand you may not agree but come on. I am not Jewish and I grew up in NY/NJ and I was forced to observe all of the Holidays that you mentioned.. uhm actually it is ironic b/c I went to Catholic school...But as I child all I knew was Hey I am out of school Thank You God. I feel this has truly gotten out of hand and I am responding to you b/c I held you in a different regard, I know you may not agree but I didn't think you would respond with your ending remark. And ALL of you who have posted have left me out, so I think YOU all owe me a Happy Boxing Day and Please no profanity.
And unless you went to Synagogue on the High Holidays as a child, you weren't forced to observe...just off of school for 3 days (give or take). Though I guess I never realized that a Catholic school would be closed for those holidays...could be some of your teachers and other school employees weren't Catholic? It kills me that in Georgia's 2nd largest school district (that has a high population of Jewish employees as well as students) I have to use personal/sick days for the High Holidays. And when I originally moved out of NY to Florida, my mom would call us in to school "sick".
As far as my reaction? Various people on this board have chosen to shove Xmas down everybody's throats...AFTER I mentioned that I disliked when people in public say "Merry Christmas". I will reiterate one of my initial posts, it has nothing to do with being politically correct, it has to do with respecting each other's beliefs. My brother married a Catholic woman a few years ago. Now, personally, his wife is a bit on the "fanatic" side, but be that as it may...they have a little girl this year. They are not raising her Jewish. So, all of her presents were wrapped in Xmas wrap. I am respecting their choice to raise my niece Catholic.
Roxy, and anyone else who grew up in NY/NJ area, may understand this...but being Jewish isn't just about religion. It's about culture, tradition, and way of life.
That said
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
I Grew up in Brooklyn and all I knew were Jewish, Caribbean and Italian families. Never did I ever experience the drama over Holidays as I have on this board. Now, Talk as I stated in my earlier post we are all allowed our own opinion in post but when we start using profanity and insulting each other it makes the post take a different direction and YES you do not know me and I have spent MANY Holidays in synagogue especially since my Godmother is Jewish(I am Catholic u ever heard of a Jewish Godmother?) and gave me Christmas gifts and I got Hannaukah gifts and still to this day I have a gold dradle my Bubbie gave me when I was 4 which is like 30 yrs old now(hmm I wonder if it is worth something). All that being said have you ever seen a little caribbean black girl sitting in a synagogue?? Anywho I allow people to say what they like and I speak my mind and all I am saying is that this is Holiday season and all this drama is uncalled for, especially the profanity and name calling. Now..as a fellow NY'er you know we do not speak just to speak, so I did not approach you in a disrespectful tone as I am kind of picking up in your tone to me. I came to you b/c I was shocked to see not your post but how you ended your post. My Bubbie called me this morning to wish me a Merry Christmas had to remind her it is tomorrow though.
